Dr Tess Holm is a female Veterinarian.
Tess Holm has been a Veterinarian at Para Hills Veterinary Clinic since August 2006, but she's been involved with animals in a wide variety of settings since much earlier in life.
"I've always loved animals," Dr. Holm says. "I spent a lot of time camping with my family when I was young, and we all loved watching native animals; I remember many spotlight walks in the early evenings to watch kangaroos and possums."
Dr Holm continued to pursue her passion for animals as she grew older, volunteering at her local veterinary clinic (Brighton Veterinary Clinic in Brisbane) starting when she was just 14 years old. By 16 she was employed at the clinic, and remained there as a veterinary nurse until she earned her doctorate from the University of Queensland, graduating with 1st class honours.
Dr Holm counts veterinary surgery as her major professional interest, but her favorite part of working at Para Hills Veterinary Clinic is the chance she's offered to see the impact of her work each day. "I'm able to see my advice and treatment make a difference in the life of an animal and their owner, especially when it comes to improving quality of life," Dr Holm says.
