Dr Roger Blackwell is a male Veterinarian.
Roger grew up at Wynyard in northwest Tasmania, and knew from 11 years old that he wanted to be a vet. Graduating from Murdoch University in WA in 1982, he brought Leonie and oldest daughter Kylie to Deloraine to start a new life here in 1985. He thoroughly enjoys (even after 40 years!), the challenge of mixed practice, where you never know what the next job may be. His professional special interests include all things surgical, in particular orthopaedics and ophthalmology, but also cattle and horse surgery. Having married a horsey girl and bred four daughters all of whom went to pony club, at age 40 when the kids were more independent, he took up horse riding for fun (if you can’t beat them, then join them!), and enjoys competing in eventing and show jumping.
