Dr Michael Woodworth is a male Veterinarian.
Born and raised in Perth, Michael finished vet school in 2007. His family (Mum Liz, Dad Peter and brother Ben) remain in Perth and regularly offer (or threaten?) to dress up in animal costumes to promote awareness about Nairne Vet every time they visit. He and Cammy had started a relationship only months before graduating and, with Cammy moving to the US for horse trials, decided to go on an adventure.
They wound up in Ocala Florida while Michael worked just north in Gainesville, home of the University of Florida (go gators!). It was here they adopted Cooper – an Australian Shepherd, - Murphy – a Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever X – and Mufasa – a Domestic Short Hair. The latest addition to the family, Squid (aka Squiddle, Kitten) is the Mini Me of Mufasa and came in June 2015 while Cammy was working at a vet clinic in Mount Barker.
After nearly 3 years the pull of home became too strong and the family moved back home. It was decided (by a vote – Cammy 2, Woody 1) that Adelaide would be their new/old home. After spending 18 months enjoying locum work (including periods at Stirling and Balhannah) he took a permanent position at Old Reynella. The team here inspired Cammy and Michael to open their own practice, with the community of Nairne and the beauty of the Adelaide Hills too appealing to pass up.
Around work he likes surgery, bossy dogs, pocket pets and “a little bit of everything”. Outside of work his interests include soccer, fishing, golfing, hiking and “a little bit of everything”. Cammy and Michael were married in March of 2013 at the Adelaide Zoo. They try to spend most Sunday evenings in Hahndorf with their family where George (mother in law) is known to cook up a feast - if you're lucky you might even find some of her famous cookies at the clinic! She also decorated the clinic with eye catching artwork while Mick (father in law) is the book-keeper and handyman of the clinic. Both their families support has been tremendous through the creation of Nairne Vet, something that will never be forgotten.
In 2017 the Woodworth family grew again with the addition of the first furless child, Lincoln. His hobbies include raiding the lollipops and reorganising the (fresh) cat litter. 2019 saw the addition of a second furless child, Rory. He's quickly adapted to the fast pace the clinic has set for the family and now also joins Lincoln in re-organising the clinic. In 2021 they welcomed baby Jude, it didn't long until he had everyone at the clinic wrapped around his little finger.
