Dr Michael Cannon is a male Veterinarian.
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney in 1976 and settled in Wollongong soon after, raising his family here. He was awarded Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Avian Health in 1984 and was one of the first vets in Australia to surgically sex birds. He received his Graduate Diploma in Education from University of Technology Sydney in 1991 and in the same year established Cannon & Ball Veterinary Clinic (along with friend and colleague then, Dr David Ball).
Throughout his career he has worked with many different species of animal. He is active in aviculture and works with various wildlife parks and zoos when not at the clinic. He has taught veterinary nurses and zoo keepers in the past and currently lectures veterinary students at Sydney University. He is an active member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians - Australasian Committee, Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians special interest group of the Australian Veterinary Association, Association of Reptile and Amphibian vets.
