BVetBiol (Syd), DVM (Syd), Veterinarian
Dr Josie Fleming is a female Veterinarian.
Josie grew up in a small town in northern Tasmania and moved to Sydney in 2015 for University. Since then, she’s made our harbourside town her home.
Josie has loved animals since she was a young girl, especially wildlife and exotics. She developed a love of academics in school, so becoming a vet seemed like the logical next step. After taking a year off after high school in Tassie, Josie completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Biology at Sydney University and went on to attain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2020, also from Sydney Uni. With additional exotic animal placements in her final year, Josie showed a keen interest in the exotics side of veterinary medicine early on.
Josie has a handsome rescue budgie named Ned. She adopted him in April 2022 after he was abandoned, and he has fast become a beloved member of her family. Living his best life back in Tasmania, Josie also owns Seuss, a 28 year old Standardbred ex-pacer who is happily retired.
Dr Josie has become a familiar face at The Wild Vet, and she treats a range of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs and rabbits. She can’t wait to meet you and your beloved family pets!
