Dr Jeffery Lee is a male Veterinarian.
Jeff has had a wide exposure to what and where veterinary medicine can take you. An import from Malaysia who now... “calls Australia home”, is a product of the Veterinary School at the University of Queensland in 1975 under the Colombo Plan Scholarship scheme. Practiced briefly at Nobby’s Beach Veterinary Clinic on the Gold Coast, returned to Malaysia to join the faculty in the newly established veterinary school in Universiti Pertanian Malaysia(UPM) - Agricultural University.
Undertook studies at the Ontario Veterinary College(OVC), Ontario, Canada between 1976-1979 graduating with a Diploma in Diagnostic Veterinary Pathology and a Master of Veterinary Medicine and resumed teaching at the veterinary faculty at UPM in 1980.
In 1983, Jeff transferred from teaching at UPM to becoming the Zoo Director of Malaysia’s National Zoo (Zoo Negara) for the next 6 years, till 1989. During his zoo career he completed an Executive MBA with the Cranfield University in England.
Jeff and his family moved to Sydney at the end of 1989 in search of the famous Australian sun, sand, sea and surf lifestyle. He quickly woke up to reality in the hustle and bustle of Sydney and commenced work as an AQIS veterinarian but did not last long in the world of abattoirs and export meat. Just was not cut out for it.
Spent 10 years (1990-2000) in marketing in the Veterinary Pharmaceutical Industry with the likes of Coopers, then Pitman-Moore; Jurox; Uncle Bens and finally as Marketing Development Manager for Pfizer Animal Health. During those industry years there must have been a yearning to remain a veterinarian as Jeff also worked as an Emergency Veterinarian attached to the Northwest Emergency Animal Centre in Baulkham Hills which was eventually taken over by the Animal Referral Hospital.
In 2000, Jeff decided to concentrate on veterinary practice once more and became a partner in Forestville Veterinary Hospital (FVH). Getting back to basics with the accumulated experience from a wider veterinary perspective from academia and research to the business world of the animal industry, Jeff has a profound understanding of how the business of caring for animals interacts with people who appreciate and value animals and have pets that are in fact a member of their family.
Jeff says “It is one of the most rewarding feelings to see how pet owner’s eyes light up, young and elderly alike, but especially in children, when they collect their much loved pets after they have recovered from illness or a medical/surgical procedure that provides an improved quality of life for the pet.”
