Dr Jaime Olsen is a female Veterinarian.
Dr Jaime studied Veterinary Science at James Cook University in North Queensland, graduating in 2014. She began her career in referral and specialist practice, firstly as a rotating intern in Brisbane, which cemented her passion for all things surgery. She moved to Western Australia to further pursue this field, spending 2 years in a specialist small animal surgery department.
Since completion of her internships, Dr Jaime has continued working in general practices in the Perth area, focussing on providing exceptional surgical care for her patients and using low-stress techniques to make their visits more enjoyable. In 2019, Dr Jaime passed her examinations and became a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in small animal surgery. She enjoys performing both orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries and is passionate about both post-operative and chronic pain management.
Dr Jaime enjoys all aspects of feline general practice, including preventative health and medicine. However, her main interests lie in the fields of surgery, emergency and critical care, chronic pain management and rehabilitation. She particularly enjoys gastrointestinal surgeries, urogenital surgeries, fracture repairs, surgical oncology and skin reconstructive procedures. She has brought her skillset in performing procedures such as perineal urethrostomies, medial patellar luxation repairs, total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomies (TECABO) and many more to the Perth Cat Hospital.
Dr Jaime currently has 2 published papers in peer reviewed veterinary journals and feels passionate about furthering the field of veterinary science through research. She also enjoys being involved in continuing education and teaching students.
