BVSc (Hons) (Melb), Veterinarian
Dr Ben Goddard is a male Veterinarian.
I was born and raised in Melbourne and from an early age was fascinated by animals and the natural world. My summers were spent by the beach on the Mornington Peninsula where I would generally be found net in hand catching small sea creatures, progressing to snorkelling as I got older.
I pursued my childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian and graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2003. My first 3 years of veterinary practice were as one of 2 vets in a small animal clinic in Pakenham in Victoria. It was a steep learning curve but an enjoyable introduction to being a vet. I then headed to the UK where I locumed for 2 years. It was my first time overseas and a life-changing experience.
I returned home to Australia in late 2008 and settled in Canberra in 2009. I spent the past 11 years in a large practice on the south side of Canberra and have developed an keen interest in oncology, completing a distance education course in medical oncology in 2010. In 2016 I completed a distance education course in surgery where my main interest is in soft tissue surgery.
