Dr Amanda L Wood is a female Veterinarian.
Originally from San Diego, California, she received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology, Registered Veterinary Technicians License and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from San Diego State University and Western University, respectively.
Training in California as a nurse and veterinarian provided ample opportunity to work with specialist facilities, including critical care, surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, oncology and dermatology. She has over 20 years experience working in veterinary emergency and specialist hospitals, including 2 years working in Newcastle at the emergency centre.
She opened Windan’Sea in 2014 to provide compassionate and progressive medical care to companion, exotic and wild animals for her community. Her special interest includes ultrasound, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, avian medicine, acupuncture and alternative therapies.
Amanda moved to Australia in 2009 to join her husband Ryan, who is from Forster and has a shared passion of surfing, Chinese Medicine and animals. They have two children, four dogs - Kai, Zion, Toro and Walter - and two three-legged cats, Tao and Maud. Raising her family with the love of her life and practicing medicine in such a spectacular country filled with the world’s most magnificent animals, environment and surf is a dream come true.
